In this week’s issue of People, Michelle Obama confesses she favors a Portuguese Water Dog for their First-Dog-to-Come. No matter what breed they go with, The First Family has decided to wait until April before getting a dog. Michelle is hoping the warm weather will make the girls more willing to walk their new arrival. She also tells the mag they haven’t decided on a name because she doesn’t like any of the names the girls have picked so far. “Frank was one of them, Moose was another,” she says with a laugh and a roll of her eyes. I’m like no, come on. Let’s work with the names a little bit”.
So, will Portuguese Water Dogs become America’s most popular breed if chosen as First Dog? Stay tuned to Obama Factor to find out!
wow - that is really surprising. I was all about the Labradoodle - guess I just lost $20. I had to do a little more research on why they picked the PWD, and found an OK description of it: http://obamadogadoption.com/Dog_breeds/portuguese-water-dog.html. It seems like a good choice the more I think about it, wish I had my $20 back though.
