After President Obama’s first address to Congress, most media outlets were talking politics but a few were talking fashion. The Huffington Post, The New York Times and NBC News all marveled at the First Lady’s choice to display her beautiful, muscular arms at the event. The NY Times commented, “if she keeps going at this rate, Mrs. Obama may do to dresses with sleeves what President John F. Kennedy did to men’s hats.”
Some criticized Michelle Obama for wearing a sleeveless dress in the middle of winter in Washington D.C. while others applauded her for showing off the sculpted arms she has worked so hard for. The First lady was the only woman in the room sans sleeves but looked quite comfortable in the plum Narciso Rodriguez sheath dress.
